Este portal nace de la asunción de un reto por parte del IMSERSO y el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC): crear un portal de referencia en el ámbito de la gerontología y la geriatría, que establezca y desarrolle un sistema de información sobre mayores en internet.
